Overview
SCIAMACHY (SCanning Imaging Absorption spectroMeter for Atmospheric CHartographY) is an imaging spectrometer whose main mission is to measure the amount of several trace gases, such as O3, NO2, H2O, CO2, CO and CH4, in the troposphere and the stratosphere. The resolution and spectral width used also enable the detection of clouds and aerosols. The products derived from SCIAMACHY data will provide scientists with a better understanding of ozone chemistry, changes in the greenhouse effect and atmospheric climate processes.
The NL-SCIA-DC distribution centre can provide level 1B data (individual spectra), level 2 data (entire columns for different species) and auxiliary files.
